What: Our community is serious about preventing medication misuse/abuse and about environmentally safe disposal of medication. When: 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. How: • Leave medication in the original container. • Remove your name & personal information. • Keep the name of the medication. • Drop medication into the disposal box. Take It To The Box Basic Information
WHAT is Take It To The Box? The Take It To The Box program promotes the safe use, safe storage and safe disposal of unneeded prescription and over-the-counter medications. The Hubbard County community is serious about preventing medication misuse/abuse and about environmentally safe disposal of unneeded medications.
WHY is it important? • A growing concern is the abuse, by youth and others, of medications not prescribed to them. Safe disposal makes unneeded medicine less available. • Evidence is increasing of the damage to the environment due to unsafe disposal of medications. Proper disposal helps protect our soil and water.
What else should I know? The Box is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day. No questions asked, and is free of charge.
WHERE is the disposal box located? Drop off box is located in the outer lobby of: • Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office 301 Court Ave. Park Rapids, MN
WHAT do I do? • Leave medication in the original container. • Remove your name and other identifying information. • Leave the name of the medication. • Drop medication into the disposal box opening.
